An Outdoor Program

Gardening

Gardening in our Montessori program is a wonderful way for children to connect with nature and nurture living things.

While they work in harmony with the forces of nature, they learn about parts of seeds, flowers and the cycle of plants and life on Earth.

Children love to dig in the dirt and have great fun working cooperatively together. They get great exercise while doing so too.

Outdoor work is a natural extension of our indoor program where Sensorial and Practical Life skills are considered fundamental activities.

Gardening addresses the specific developmental needs of our students—gross and fine motor skills, creative expression and language development, to name a few.

Furthermore, to complement their gardening work, children participate in our Outdoor and Fied Trips Program. This program provides an opportunity for students to explore the neighborhood and surrounding communities, engage in cooperative games, immerse themselves in nature, and discover art in new and creative ways.
